We have answered the questions we get asked most, so you can book with confidence and plan your experience with ease.

When is the AIG Women's Open?

Early August, running Thursday to Sunday. It is the final major of the women's golf season.

Where is it played?

Like The Open, it rotates around links courses in Great Britain and Northern Ireland rather than returning to one venue each year. The R&A confirms the host in advance.

Is it a major?

Yes. Women's golf has five majors, and the AIG Women's Open is the one played in Britain. It has been run by the R&A since 2017.

How does it compare to The Open for atmosphere?

Crowds are smaller, which is a large part of the appeal. You can get far closer to the players, walk the course more freely and follow a group for a full round without fighting for position.

What should I pack?

The same as for any links championship: layers, waterproofs and shoes you can walk eighteen holes in. August is no guarantee of dry weather on a British coast.

What they say

For many years I had looked forward to visiting the Masters Tournament. The SGH trip was created for our group of 4 golfers and everything was effortless from start to finish. The accommodation, host house and recommended golf courses were all first class. Despite having high expectations, it is fair to say these were exceeded.
